Just south of the New Hampshire border, this 195 acre property sits at the south shore of Lake Monomonac. This property was acquired in 2023 as an effort to protect 200+ acres of forested land at the southern end of Lake Monomonac in partnership with Mount Grace Land Trust. In addition to the 195 acres that North County Land Trust maintains, an additional 53 acres were conserved and conveyed to MA Department of Fish and Wildlife and added to their nearby Winchendon Springs Wildlife Management Area. Recognized by Massachusetts’ Natural Heritage & Endangered Species Program as essential habitat, this landscape is pivotal in supporting biodiversity by ensuring species migration across diverse habitats.
Please note that trail development is still in progress and skid roads from the previous owners logging crisscross the property. Current trail is approximately 1 mile and is marked with painted yellow squares. Additional trails will be built, marked, and added to the map over the course of 2024-2025.
Parking for 2-3 vehicles can be found off of Lakeview Drive in Winchendon at coordinates 42.695560, -72.009400. Google Map Link
