To support the fundraising challenge, board members are hosting events throughout the spring and summer, beginning with the Fitchburg Area Garden Tour and Full Moon Hiking Series.

The Fitchburg Area Garden Tour is planned for Saturday, June 23, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a rain date of Sunday, June 24.

“The Fitchburg Area Garden Tour will feature six privately owned gardens in Leominster, Fitchburg and Westminster,” says Elizabeth, “with a stop at North County Land Trust’s home at The Doyle Center. All of the gardens are maintained by the owners and showcase their passion for gardening. On the tour, you will find water features, more formal rose plantings, rock gardens, lily beds, perennial beds, woodland gardens, cutting gardens and border shade gardens.”

Elizabeth says none of the gardeners claim to be experts, “just people with a passion about their backyards and plants and are willing to share their knowledge with others.”
