Join us for a lantern making workshop! Lily Kaplan, TerraCorps Community Engagement Coordinator at NCLT, and Emily Merlino, Director of Land Programs at NCLT will be leading the group in decorating glass lanterns for our annual Winter Solstice Lantern Walk of 2025! Lanterns made at this workshop will be added to the NCLT collection and used to light the trails for the walk on December 19th, if you’d like to register click here. During the workshop we will be using a multi-media approach to decorate the lanterns with items such as tissue paper, paints, and more!
No experience is needed! Please feel free to bring a creative mind, clothes you are okay with getting messy (if you plan to use permanent paints or makers) and your own glass recyclables if you have them to make lanterns. We will have glass jars and recyclables for use, however if you are able to bring some, it is highly appreciated.
We will also have paper lantern making materials for those who want to bring something home with them!
We kindly ask you to use the Abbott Ave. entrance as it is dangerous to use the Lindell Ave. entrance. Please feel free to park in the staff parking lot as the workspace is marked on the map below.
