Event Type

NCLT is partnering with the Friends of Stevens Memorial Library and the Ashburnham Council on Aging to support their initiative “Exercise Your Body, Exercise Your Mind” aimed at encouraging residents of Ashburnham and the surrounding towns to participate in outdoor recreation. We are hosting a two-hour hike at Kirby Conservation Area on July 17th starting at 10 am to get local residents familiar with our trails. The terrain is fairly level though it can be rocky at times so be sure to wear sturdy footwear. This hike is free and open to the public, and is especially great for older adults looking to get outside and meet other walkers. To access the trailhead please head north on Rindge Turnpike and turn right onto Wilker Road or head south on Rindge Turnpike and turn left onto Wilker Road. Park at the end of Wilker Road where there is a sharp right turn and the conservation area will be on your left. If you are coming from Ashburnham center take River Styx Road until it turns into Russel Hill Road and then Wilker Road and follow it to the end.
