Wingmasters and Owl Prowl

What a treat to have Jim Parks from Wingmasters give a highly engaging presentation: New England Birds of Prey at the Fitchburg Public Library, MA. on Saturday, October 16. The audience was able to see several of these beautiful live birds and learn about their different hunting adaptations and their status in a rapidly changing world. For more information on Wingmasters, visit http://www.wingmasters.net/

And on October 22, we gathered for the Owl Prowl Night Hike at Crocker Conservation Area. Laurie Nehring taught the group of nearly 40 about the lovely owls found in our area and taught us how to call to the barred owls. Not only was it a beautiful autumn evening, it was a great success!  Several of these barred owls were heard chatting with one another as the (nearly) full moon rose in the sky. Click the following video link  to hear those barred owls heard the night of the Owl Prowl (And thanks to one of our participants for this great video sound!): Barred Owls 10.22.21

Thanks again to the Fitchburg Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the MA Cultural Council, a state agency, for helping making these programs possible.
