Join us for Take a Walk in the Park Day
Celebrated annually on March 30, the unofficial holiday encourages people to get active and enjoy the physical and mental benefits that come from walking in nature.
Why join in? Studies have shown that walking for about 30 minutes a day can have huge health benefits. Walking in nature – away from the dust and pollution of streets and cars – can boost moods and reduce stress. Studies have shown that people who hike or walk in green areas tend to be happier than those who don’t.
Want to join in on the fun? Wear weather appropriate shoes, leave your phone behind and breathe in the fresh air as you walk around our Peabody Conservation Area in Lunenburg. Can’t join us? Grab a good friend or family member to accompany you on your walk.
Join us at 4pm at the shared parking area at the Lane Conservation Area parking lot on Holman St. We ask walkers to practice social distancing and to wear masks when distancing isn’t possible. A private landowner has generously agreed to a trail across his property to lead to the Peabody Conservation area trail system.
We are asking for pre-registration to be sure that NCLT is compliant with the guidelines mandated by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
