Join us to plant native pollinators at Dwelly!
As part of our ongoing work to create rich native habitat at Dwelly Farm Conservation Area we have made great efforts to remove invasive plants and plant and promote growth of native plants at the property. This year our Invasive Erasers group has focused on pulling glossy buckthorn at the site and have made consistent progress towards our goals. We have also been caring for native pollinator seedlings at our office since April, planted by Cushing Academy volunteers at their day of service.
As fall is right around the corner and the growing season is coming to an end, it is time to plan for wrapping up the season – this means planting! We will plant wild bergamot and showy tick trefoil that was started from seed this spring. We hope you’ll come to help install these native plants in the pollinator field and contribute to this great, ongoing project.
We will be digging holes and installing plants, please wear clothes and shoes for outdoor work and predicted weather. We will have some gloves and shovels to use, but feel free to bring your own if you prefer.
