DATE HAS CHANGED TO OCT 22 DUE TO RAIN!
Join in from 9a-11:30a on October 22nd for a great opportunity to learn about invasive plants from Fitchburg State University professor Chris Picone and get some hands on experience removing them. We will take some time to look around the property and identify invasive plants, Chris will help us to learn key identifiers and develop a keen eye for these unwanted invaders. Then we will use what we’ve learned to remove some of these invasive plants from the Longview Conservation Area property.
Volunteers from our bi-weekly Invasive Erasers group, students from Fitchburg State University and from Mount Wachusett Community College, and community members will all join in to learn along with us.
We hope you will join us to learn a little and have some fun outdoors at this beautiful property at the foot of Mt. Watatic. We will have gloves and tools available, but if you have some favorite gear feel free to bring it. Please dress for the weather and “yard work” style activity.
Please register to let us know you’ll be joining, we will bring some fall treats to share and want to make sure we have enough!
Rain date Sunday, October 22. We will notify registrants by email and on social media if the event will be moved to the rain date.
