Amanda Melinchuk, Bat Research Monitor with the Department of Conservation and Recreation, will share her expertise and talk about the myths and misconceptions surrounding bats; why bats are important; the bats in Massachusetts, threats to bats such as White-Nose Syndrome; how to help bats; and bat houses. After the PowerPoint presentation and question-and-answer session, Amanda will lead the group on a short walk and using technology will try to track some bats. Presentation is rain or shine. For older children and adults, all children must be accompanied by an adult. Space limited to 30 attendees.
