NCLT INTRODUCES NEW BUSINESS PARTNER PROGRAM
North County Land Trust is excited to introduce a new program designed for local businesses with a focus on healthy living, employee engagement and charitable giving. Recent studies have highlighted that employees admire companies that offer volunteer activities and invest in their community through philanthropy. It inspires greater engagement, boosts morale and enhances company culture. The new “Connect your Brand to the Land” partnership is a great way for businesses to combine these initiatives.
NCLT Executive Director Anna Wilkins noted “we piloted the program with Bemis Associates (Shirley, MA) in 2021. It was rewarding for both NCLT and Bemis and we realized that companies are looking for impactful ways to engage with employees and their local community”.
Bemis President Mike Johansen confirmed “partnering with North County Land trust has been a huge success to date. Not only does the mission of North County land trust align well with Bemis’s sustainability goals and values, the opportunity for employee engagement has also been phenomenal”.
The business-focused program has various levels of annual partnership from $500 to $7,500 to fit a company’s budget. Each level highlights a company’s charitable support across multiple platforms and events while providing engagement opportunities for employee outdoor activities. NCLT already offers numerous monthly programs across the year at its Conservation Areas in north central MA including guided hikes, owl prowls, nature education, trail stewardship volunteer projects, etc. Annual events such as the Rock & Laurel Trail Race (June) and the Hiking Shoes to Cold Brews W2W Hike (November) are fun outdoor events that promote healthy living. New offerings such as the Trail All-Star program, team-building challenges and presentations on conservation topics are being introduced to enhance the business partnership program.
“In the past year, Bemis employees have participated in multiple events such as trail maintenance, park cleanup, and last June, we had over 50 employees and their families participate in the NCLT annual Rock & Laurel trail race. These kind of events are a great way for employees to connect, build relationships, and learn about protecting local land and helps reinforce a Bemis value to giving back to the community.” – Mike Johansen
