W2W 2021: Hiking Shoes to Cold Brews

The inaugural W2W Hike on Saturday, November 20, was an amazing day! We had close to 200 hikers who enjoyed the perfect fall day as they used their hiking shoes to travel the trails to cold brews. The hike was so popular that all spots available for hikers sold out! Hikers parked at the Wachusett Mountain Ski Area to park and get their gear ready to go.

Some of the more adventurous hikers started at 8am for the early bird pre-hike summit of Wachusett Mountain. They then joined the other hikers and the wonderful volunteer hike leaders to hit the MidState Trail.

We are so grateful to have partnered with Wachusett Brewery who hosted the post-hike gathering of all participants. We even had a brown ale named after the W2W hike. A big thank you to the band for the afternoon at the brewery, Barbwire & Lace who graciously took time to announce the silent auction and give shout outs about NCLT to all at the brew yard.

“This (event) was wonderful. So happy so much money was raised. Such a good cause!” – Jeri R.

In total, the hiker registration fees, silent auction and special edition Hiking Shoes Brown Ale from Wachusett Brewery helped NCLT raise over $10,000 to conserve and protect local land in north central MA. We can’t wait to do it all again next year! Stay tuned for the 2022 date and more!
