We are happy to welcome Emily Merlino to the NCLT team as our Stewardship Coordinator! This newly created position is responsible for the monitoring and maintenance of our conservation properties including publicly accessible conservation areas with trail systems. In addition to monitoring these lands, Emily will help recruit, train, and manage a team of stewardship volunteers. After a successful year as our TerraCorps Service Member, Emily proved herself invaluable to North County Land Trust’s work and she is enthusiastic about the opportunity to develop her land stewardship skills in this new role.
Emily is a native of central MA and her goal is to ensure the land and trails are given the attention they deserve. Because conservation land trusts are “in the business of forever” protecting the lands in our care, it’s the perfect match! Having Emily on board to ensure consistency, community, and innovation in our stewardship work builds on NCLT’s goal of being a leader in conservation for the region.
Emily joins her years of professional project management and her love of outdoor recreation and trail work together with her drive for engaging our local community into this next step in her professional life. Please help us welcome Emily to our NCLT family!
