Join us with certified birder Clay Hobart on Saturday, September 21 at 10-11:30am on Mt. Wachusett for a great day of hawk watching. For birders of all levels, this event promises to deepen your knowledge and appreciation for these winged wonders. Don’t miss this chance to explore the diverse birdlife of the area with a knowledgeable guide.
Karen O’Neill from the citizen action group Save Nashoba Valley Wildlife will give a short overview of the dangers of SGARs—Second Generation Anticoagulant Rodenticides, to hawks and other wildlife. Thank you to Save Nashoba Valley Wildlife for partnering with us on this event.
For this event, we recommend you bring your hiking shoes, water, bug spray, and binoculars (if you have them). If you would like to participate in nature journaling, Susan Edwards will have some of her favorite drawing pencils available! Please bring your own nature journal or paper.
Parking can get congested at the mountain, so we recommend you plan to arrive early. For parking guidelines and more information about Wachusett Mountain, please visit https://www.mass.gov/locations/wachusett-mountain-state-reservation.
