SUMMARY:Nature Journaling Workshop - Session Two
DESCRIPTION:Come join us for the second session of our nature journaling wo
 rkshop series\, instructed by artist and teacher Margaret McCandless. With
  a combination of instruction time\, questions and answers\, and field tim
 e making notes and sketches\, the workshop group will learn ideas and skil
 ls\, then put them to use outdoors. These kinds of journals are kept by so
 me hikers\, birdwatchers\, and more. Margaret will teach the ideas\, dispe
 l fears\, and give practice to the skills. This can empower participants t
 o begin keeping nature journals themselves\, or to expand the kinds of art
 work\, information\, and techniques that they include\, if they already ar
 e drawing\, painting\, or writing field notes.  We'll have drawing techni
 ques\; the philosophy of observing\; the practice of being still and silen
 t to allow wild creatures time around us\; ideas about planning images\, c
 ropping scenes\, considering highlights\, uses of contrast in drawing\; an
 d more. In this session there will be more detailed exploration of the use
  of color in your nature journals.\n\nThis program will be rain or shine\,
  bring an umbrella if rain is predicted!  Bring your favorite drawing imp
 lements\, we will provide the paper.\n\n \n\n&nbsp\;\n\nThis program is su
