SUMMARY:Conservation Conversation - Exploring Green Burials
DESCRIPTION:Conservation Conversation - Exploring Green Burials\n\n\nJoin N
CLT for a Conservation Conversation to discuss the requirements\, reasons
for and the options available for green burials. We will be joined by Eva
Moseley of Green Burial Massachusetts\, Inc.  As a regional land trust\,
we've been asked to consider the option of green burials. This topic has p
otential interest for many: landowners looking to become part of this revo
lution with their own land\, individuals looking to learn more of their op
tions\, religious institutions exploring how to provide members with the s
ervices they require\, and cities looking at their own burial grounds with
in their community.\n\nPlease send us questions you may have and we will d
o our best to provide answers and resources.\n\nWe look forward to an enga
ging conversation with you. Please register below for the conversation\, w
e will send you a Zoom link the day before the event.\n\nAbout our guest s
peaker:\n\n\nEva Moseley is a board member of Green Burial Massachusetts\,
Inc.\, and of the Funeral Consumers Alliance of Eastern Massachusetts (FC
AEM).  Before retiring in 1999\, she was curator of manuscripts at the wo
men’s history library at Radcliffe.   Like NCLT and you in the audienc
e\, she cares a lot about what happens to the environment\, and as she was
born in 1931\, she has a personal interest in finding land for a green bu
rial ground soon.\n\nGreen Burial Massachusetts (GBM) is a statewide all-v
olunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose guiding principle is to restore death t
o its rightful place in the cycle of life. Their mission is twofold: to st
art the first green cemetery open to all in Massachusetts\, and to educate
the public about green burial. As part of their Education and Advocacy\,
Green Burial MA provides talks\, workshops\, webinars\, and other educatio
nal programs about natural burial at public libraries\, senior centers\, g
reen fairs\, and other venues. They provide consultation and our expertise
to municipalities and nonprofit organizations about natural burial. They
also advocate on behalf of individuals who would like to choose natural bu
rial.\n\nWhat is Green Burial? Check out this page on the Green Burial Web
 site for more information.\n\n
